Caroline Biden, 26, was apparently fighting with her roommate when officers attempted to intervene. However, she seemed to be in the mood to fight. She then lunged at an officer, resisted being handcuffed and struck a different officer. The New York Daily News reports that the original fight with her roommate was over rent money Biden owed to her roommate. The doorman was the one who called police when he heard a loud argument from the third floor.
Her official arrest charges are harassment, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration. The Wall Street Journal quotes an officer saying of her, “She is highly uncooperative, won’t speak to cops and wants to make all sorts of phone calls but won’t say who she wants to call.”
However, after being taken in, the young Biden was taken to a hospital after she took ill at the station house. She told officers she had failed to take medication for a heart condition.
She will have to appear in court on Oct. 29. The vice president's office did not offer any immediate comment on the issue.
