Morrissey, a vegetarian, rips meat eaters as no better than pedophiles or Nazis

Singer Morrissey slammed meat eaters as barbaric thugs who are no better than pedophiles or Nazis.

"I see no difference between eating animals and pedophilia," Morrissey, a longtime vegetarian, said on his website. "They are both rape, violence, murder.

"If you have access to YouTube, you should click on 'The Video the Meat Industry Doesn’t Want You to See.' If this doesn’t affect you in a moral sense then you’re probably granite." (see above)

Morrissey added that meat eaters would have been Nazi sympathizers during World War II because there's no difference between an animal slaughterhouse and a Nazi concentration camp.

"If you believe in the abattoir, then you would support Auschwitz," he said. "There’s no difference. People who would disagree with this statement have probably never been inside an abattoir."

Morrissey is a staunch animal-rights activist who has long advocated a plant-based diet for both health and ethical reasons. He said he wouldn't hesitate to be rude to any meat-eating person he encounters.

"If I’m introduced to anyone who eats beings, I walk away," he said. "Imagine, for example, if you were in a nightclub and someone said to you, ‘Hello, I enjoy bloodshed, throat-slitting and the destruction of life.’ Well, I doubt if you’d want to exchange phone numbers."

Morrissey also slammed England's Queen Elizabeth for wearing "electrocuted animals," and criticized British chef Jamie Oliver for cooking "flesh food."

"If Jamie ‘Orrible is so certain that flesh food is tasty, then why doesn’t he stick one of his children in a microwave?” asked Morrissey.

This isn't the first time the brash British singer/songwriter has taken a hard line on vegetarianism and animal welfare. In February 2013, Morrissey made headlines after pressuring the Los Angeles Staples Center to provide vegetarian and vegan meals at its concession stands.

The following week, Morrissey canceled an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" because he didn't want to appear alongside the cast of "Duck Dynasty," whom he called "animal serial killers."

Morrissey, 54, is currently working on his first novel following the runaway success of his 2013 memoir, Autobiography.

“In 2013 I published my Autobiography, and it has been more successful than any record I have ever released, so, yes, I am midway through my novel," he said. "I have my hopes.”

Morrissey is doing well after being hospitalized for a bleeding ulcer in January 2013. He revealed that he's being treated for a condition called Barrett's esophagus, which is caused by chronic acid reflux, and in some cases, can lead to cancer.
