According to a Feb. 22 report from Yahoo! Sports, UFC President Dana White fully embraces UFC 157 star Liz Carmouche's sexual orientation.
He also wants everyone to know that he would be perfectly fine with a gay male MMA fighter in the UFC.
White said he would take issue with any fighter who refused to duke it out with someone just because they are gay.
"Most of the guys that are in this sport are really good people," White said during the UFC 157 pre-fight question and answer session. "I honestly don't see a situation where that would happen, but if it did, I'd fix it."
White has been criticized by gay groups in the past for using homophobic language, which he discussed. He has no regrets about his tenure as UFC boss, except for his use of homophobic language in a YouTube video that went viral a few years back.
"Some of our guys, and I have said some things that make it look like we're homophobes," White said. "But we're not, and we've apologized."
As for Carmouche, Zuffa's first openly gay fighter, she fights Ronda Rousey in the main event of UFC 157.
The Carmouche vs Rousey bout is historic not only because it's the first all-female UFC fight, but the first to feature a lesbian in the main event of the top MMA promotion in the world.
As of early-2013, there are no openly gay male UFC fighters.
MMA fans can check out Carmouche against Rousey on Feb. 23 in Anaheim, Calif., as the ladies are set to slug it out in the main event of UFC 157.
