New sighting testimony describes a hovering UFO shining a beam of light down onto a nuclear missile silo at Ellsworth Air Force Base, according to information released October 3, 2011, from UFO-Nuke researcher Robert Hastings.
Hastings interviewed retired U.S. Air Force Major Gaylan W. King, who was a Minuteman Launch Officer with the 66th Strategic Missile Squadron at South Dakota's Ellsworth Air Force Base when the incident occurred in 1966 or 1967.
King infers that knowledge of UFO activity was common among military personnel and that when this particular incident occurred, that a special unit - "probably working for the CIA or NSA" - stepped in for several weeks to investigate.
And hushing it all up was common as well.
"As soon as they showed up, everything began to clamp down," King said.
Ellsworth Air Force Base is located 10 miles northeast of Rapid City, SD.
Hastings specializes in declassified U.S. government documents and the testimony of former and retired military personnel who have come forward and confirmed "the reality of intermittent UFO activity at American nuclear missile sites over the years." Six veterans stood by Hastings and spoke on September 27, 2010, during a UFOs and Nukes press conference in Washington D.C.
