Update 9/4/14: Man man was put down and Mariah is going to a rescue agency.

On August 8, two dogs wound up at the Witchita Animal Shelter in Kansas, after the sudden, unexpected death of their guardian.

The dogs, Mariah and Man Man, have run out of time at the facility and those who are aware of their precarious situation are hoping that a rescue agency can be found to take them in before they are gone forever.

An individual who met the dogs this week wrote the following information:

Mariah is very sweet. Knows sit and shake and down. Man man is older prob 6 or so. He was a nice big guy as well. All they want is love. They have been at the shelter since the 8th and there are no family members to take the dogs. Their time is very limited.

The actual age of the dogs is not known, but Man Man is believed to be approximately six to eight years of age, and Mariah is estimated to be between three and four years of age. The dogs are bonded to one another and those who are fighting on their behalf are hopeful that they could join a home together.

Anyone who is interested in helping is asked to contact the facility at:

Wichita Animal Shelter, 3303 N Hillside St, Wichita, KS, 316-350-3366
