“Septimo by Silvia Fassardi” was founded in 2008 by Venezuelan jewelry designer, Silvia Fassardi who had the vision to create a unique line, named after a number 7, “Septimo”-- a powerful number in Spanish that means Seventh in English, and which people associate with good luck.
But Fassardi knew that good luck doesn’t just come her way--she created the conditions to bring herself good luck by dedicating her brand to manufacturing meaningful pieces of 18-karat gold plate classic trends with affordable luxury.
Her pieces have been featured in fashion-forward magazines like Ocean Drive and the Miami Herald, and worn by celebrities like Carolina Herrera, Britney Spears, Eva Longoria, and top model Athina Klioumi- making Fassardi another business woman on the rise!
Lissette Rondon: In this “Melting Pot” that is Miami, is there any culture that has influenced your trends of 2014?
“Yes, Italy is one of the main inspirations for my collections of 2014. I had a Venezuelan-Italian grandfather that always narrated to me, the story of Lucrezia Borgia and the poet, Pietro Bembo and how they exchanged passionate love letters,” said Fassardi.
LR- What did you like most about this Italian love story?
“How they were obsessed with their love and disguising it beneath a different language, like Lucrezia sending to Pietro a lock of her blond hair,” added Fassardi. “Lucrezia’s hair now sits trapped prettily between two plates of glass atop an elegant stand, and the original letters have been translated in a book, named for Byron’s description as “the prettiest love letters in the world.”
LR- Is there any exclusive collection that will be named after this beautiful love story?
“Yes, my collection “Poison 2014” is totally inspired by the drama and love of Lucrezia and Pietro. My favorite piece dedicated to them is my snake double finger ring that means eternal love and long life,” added Fassardi.
LR- What would be the strongest trends of this Jewelry collection?
“The gold plating on my pieces, featuring brightness which represents the opulence and abundance that reigned in the Borgia family,” said Fassardi.
LR- Outside the fashion trends, could you make any prediction for 2014?
“I cannot tell outside the fashion trends but I know for sure that cameos will be the next big thing in jewelry and mines were indeed inspired by the love letters of Lucrecia Borgia and Pietro Bembo.”
