This afternoon, news reports from Nashville revealed that Rhonda, Trace Adkins' wife, has filed for divorce. Divorce papers were filed on Tuesday afternoon in Williamson County, citing the couple's "irreconcilable differences." The couple had been married for 16 years. They originally were engaged on stage after Trace Adkins made his Grand Ole Opry debut.

In the divorce papers, Rhonda Adkins is asking for primary custody of their three children, as well as for Trace Adkins to pay child support, alimony and all her legal fees. According to TMZ, she is also seeking to be the sole beneficiary on his life insurance policy.

Trace Adkins recently returned to the Grand Ole Opry stage to perform with Exile. It was the first time he had performed since entering rehab for alcohol addiction in January. Not long after entering rehab, Adkins' father passed away in February.
