50 people were injured in a tour bus crash on a freeway outside of Los Angeles. The bus carrying passengers from a casino flipped on its side in Irwindale, Calif. According to Reuters on August 22, 2013, no one died according to the LA County Fire Department.
A total of 55 people were hurt in the crash, including about 50 on board the bus and a few people in two other vehicles struck by the bus.
The tour bus crash tied up traffic for six miles around 10 a.m. this morning. The bus, operated by Da Zhen Bus company, was carrying Chinese-speaking passengers to an Indian gaming casino. Some of the injured were transported to local hospitals and others were treated at the scene.
The five most seriously injured in the tour bus crash were airlifted. They suffered from trauma due to the bus rollover accident. None of the injuries were life threatening luckily. The bus wheels locked up causing it to skid across the freeway before it overturned, coming to a rest on its side by the eastbound lanes.
The tour bus crash is now under investigation, the operating company declined to comment on the story.
