5. Ring Bear?
In what I hope will be a running joke throughout the season, Barney refers to the “ring bear” and Robin asks him to correct himself and say “ring BEARER.” I’m telling you right now, if there isn’t a small cub dressed in a tuxedo at Barney and Robin’s wedding, I’m gonna be TICKED!
4. Oh Robin...
Throughout the series, I have loved when Robin makes references to Canada that only she finds funny. Last night’s just as awesome, as she noted that the last time her great-grandparents had sex was probably the last time the Maple Leafs won the Stanley Cup. She laughs at her own joke, but Barney (as usual) looks at her with a mix of pity and shame. Robin clarifies that the year was 1967, but the damage had already been done.
3. Lily Can't Improvise
It’s 52 hours before Barney and Robin’s wedding, and Lily meets up with Ted in the inn’s restaurant. She sees Ted holding a piece of paper and assumes it’s his best man speech. Lily claims that she’s just going to improvise her speech because (and I quote) “Things…good…mouth…words…memory…times.” Yep, she’s one eloquent dame.
2. Your The Best, Ted
As a former English teacher, I appreciate that Ted wants to help the city of New York, one grammatical error at a time. On his list of things to do before he leaves New York, Ted wants to fix the graffiti on the side of a building. The graffiti reads “Your a penis.” Ted, being the Good Samaritan that he is, fixes the graffiti. Now it reads, “YOU’RE a penis.” Thanks, Ted.
1. Princess Bride Will Never Be the Same
If there is one thing that I love more than HIMYM, it’s The Princess Bride. And yet, even though I could quote that movie from end to end, I never came upon the genius realization that Marshall did in last night’s episode. In a stroke of pure brilliance, Marshall explains that fallacy behind Inigo’s statement, “Fezzik, you finally did something right,” when in fact, Fezzik has been doing things correctly for the ENTIRE MOVIE. You know what, Andre the Giant—if I was in the movie, I would have said, “Thanks for the horses, bro.”
Side note: Shame on you, Lily for not knowing the most famous line from Princess Bride. Shame on you.
Are you ready for next week? Because I have one word for you: PATRICE!!!!
