Tony Romo looked good as the Dallas Cowboys beat the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday (August 24). Romo put up some great numbers that will likely have many fantasy football owners taking notice as the regular season quickly approaches. It was his best performance of the preseason and it might show that he is on the right track again.
Romo completed 13-of-18 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns. For the game he had a quarterback rating of 131.0 and he was extremely efficient while on the field. The offensive line still allowed him to be sacked two times, but the team didn't turn the ball over during the entire game. That included more than 30 minutes of possession time.
Last season, Romo has 4,903 passing yards to go along with 28 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. Those are really good numbers when it comes to fantasy football, but if he could increase the touchdown numbers slightly and cut those interception numbers in half they could be great statistics.
If Romo can continue putting up numbers like these against good defenses, he might even have a shot at 5,000 passing yards in the 2013 NFL season. That would make him a top five fantasy football quarterback and make him an extremely valuable player to get during drafts.
