It was revealed today in a report by PWINSIDER that TNA Wrestling will bring the 2014 edition of Slammiversary to Arlington, Texas on June 15th at the College Park Center on the campus of the Universirty of Texas. TNA previously held the 2012 Slammiversary at the same arena in Arlington. Slammiversary 2014 will air live on pay per view for fans around the world, but currently there is no details yet on when tickets will go sale for the live event.
This weekend TNA brings it's all steel-cage match event Lockdown to Miami, Florida for a fan fest on Saturday and a live pay per view on Sunday at the BankUnited Center. The card is headlined by TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus defending his title against TNA veteran Samoa Joe in a Steel Cage match. The show will also feature a rare American wrestling performance by Japanese legend the Great Muta in a 6-man tag team match inside the cage.
In other Texas related wrestling news, it was reported here in December that the Dallas Cowboys were trying to lure WWE's grandest event Wrestlemania to the Arlington area for a big show to AT&T Stadium in 2016. Read more about this year's Wrestlemania and the possibility of the 'showcase of the immortals' coming to the Lone Star state.
Pro Wrestling Examiner's Perspective: TNA Wrestling may have lost a ton of talent in the last year, but their focus on vets like Samoa Joe and new faces like Magnus and the Wolves is breathing new life into their weekly 'IMPACT' show on Spike TV.
