Tim Rushlow debuts new songwriters' night at Hard Rock Cafe in February

Multi-platinum recording artist Tim Rushlow, whom most country fans first met when he was a founding member of hit-making group Little Texas, is far from a newcomer on the music scene.

With his past membership in one of country's super groups of the '90s behind him and a few solo successes and record deals to his credit, these days he's found a happy niche and stride, and it's one that keeps expanding.

For the past year or so, Rushlow's toured taken his unplugged show event, "Tim Rushlow, One Man, One Guitar, One Night," one the road, and from that, he's opted to forge what he's dubbed as "a new kind of songwriters' night." And locals can get a taste of just what that means beginning next week.

Specifically, come Tuesday, Feb. 26, Rushlow will begin serving as host for "Rushlow in the Round," a songwriters' night that's geared toward allowing country-music listeners the chance to get a more-in-depth look at those who pen the songs. The first installment, in addition to Rushlow, is set to feature Leslie Satcher, Allen Shamblin and Larry Stewart of Restless Heart fame.

Regarding the impetus for his new writers' night, "I started to realize that there is great value in sharing your songs, your heart, and the stories behind them," Rushlow shared in a Feb. 20 communication with Examiner.com.

"I love to play hit songs from my career, as well as songs that influenced me growing up," he added. "You know, the ones that made me want to be a singer-songwriter in the first place. It is really the soundtrack of my life."

"Rushlow in the Round" is set to be an interactive show, where the stories, questions from fans and songs go to a deeper level than your typical writers' night. And with that in mind, Rushlow noted, "I have always thought that a crowd deserved more than just the traditional set up quote 'Here's another song and it goes like this.'"

Ticket info: Beginning with the aforementioned Feb. 26 event, "Rushlow in the Round" will take place on the last Tuesday of every month beginning at 7 p.m. in the Reverb Room inside downtown Nashville's Hard Rock Cafe. Tickets are $10 for the general public, $5 with active military ID or free with a Country Radio Seminar 2013 badge.
