Ticats linebacker Kevin Eiben retires

After 12 seasons, non-import linebacker Kevin Eiben has decided to retire from the CFL. Eiben took to Twitter earlier today to announce his decision.

Eiben was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the fourth round of the 2001 CFL Draft and spent the first 11 years of his career in Toronto. He was a five-time East Division all-star (2004-2007, 2010), three-time league all-star (2004, 2005, 2007) and won one Grey Cup, in 2004, during his time with the Argos.

He signed with the Ticats as a free agent in 2012 and spent one year with the team. He recorded 18 tackles, 11 special teams tackles and one fumble recovery in his lone season in Hamilton.

In total, Eiben recorded 722 tackles, 92 special teams tackles, 15 sacks, 10 interceptions and 12 fumble recoveries in his 12-year career.
