Thief robs apartment and uses duct tape to tie up victim

Duct tape is a common household product used for taping up boxes, but on Sunday, an unknown thief used it to commit a crime. An Orlando News source reported that a thief struck Micholina Oliverio, 55, from behind and robbed her. The unknown thief then bound her with duct tape.

Unable to call 911, Oliverio managed to leave her apartment and pull the fire alarm. Police reported the thief had stolen a flat screen television, perfume, and a safe containing Brazilian money and jewelry. Police believe the thief entered the apartment through a window. Although police investigated the crime and spoke to witnesses, authorities didn’t charge anyone.

Authorities will view the apartment’s footage from security cameras to find a possible suspect.

Since Oliverio didn’t see the thief’s face, she couldn’t provide a physical description. Read more about this unusual robbery at the Orlando Click news website.
