Fans of “The Young & the Restless” have been very anxious for Monday's episode given how Friday's show ended with a fiery car crash. Did Billy Abbott make it out alive, or was it Adam Newman who survived? Could both manage to escape the wreckage? Of course the Feb. 3 episode kept fans in suspense throughout the full show, but there were some key details revealed.

After the car exploded at the crash scene, Nick headed to Victoria's to tell her the bad news. Paul coordinated efforts to learn just who was in the car. The SUV ends up in the freezing river, but a watch is recovered from the crash scene. Though Paul feels sure nobody could have survived the explosion, “The Young & the Restless” viewers see that one person from the wreck is stumbling away from the scene.

Elsewhere, Fen and Lauren are passionately begging for leniency at Fen's sentencing. Michael confronts Carmine, and tells the man that he has a deal to offer. While Carmine is not interested in helping, Michael lays it out and shows that there really is no choice. Michael rushes back to the sentencing and shows a video he made with Carmine admitting that he is alive. The verdict is vacated and Fen is now free.

As for the watch found at the crash scene, Jack says he knows whose it is. Jack goes to talk to Chelsea to tell her what happened. Victoria gets a knock on her door, and she opens the door to find a wounded Billy. She gasps and hugs him, and he collapses. As “The Young & the Restless” fans know, David Tom has now come back to the show to take over the role of Billy Abbott again.

What about Adam Newman? Michael Muhney's last day on “The Young & the Restless” has already aired. While some thought that Billy was the one who walked away first from the car crash and disappeared, most believed it was Adam who took off. Of course now there is an SUV in the water and authorities have been unable to recover a body.

The preview for Tuesday shows Paul talking to Billy, seemingly insinuating that they think Adam may have been dead before the car blew up. Billy asks if he's facing arrest. It seems Genoa City folks will indeed think Adam Newman blew up in the car crash, but fans can bet there is more yet to come on this front. “The Young & the Restless” airs weekdays on CBS.
