The U.K. crowd gives TNA Impact Wrestling and Samoa Joe a much needed boost

Last weekend, TNA took their cast and crew overseas on a tour of the UK. While on tour, TNA decided to tape two episodes of Impact Wrestling in front of the wild British fans. On Thursday night February 2nd, the first of the two tapings aired on SPIKE TV. The product came off looking tremendous as the rabid British fans gave the show a special feel that is sorely missing during their shows that come from the Impact Wrestling Zone at Universal Studios. Perhaps nobody benefited more from this crowd than Samoa Joe and Magnus. According to a Friday February 3rd report by ImpactWrestling.com, Samoa Joe and Magnus defeated the TNA tag-team champions in a non-title match.

The crowd was clearly behind Magnus and Samoa Joe the entire match. Magnus used to play a British wrestler in TNA and had the support of the Brits. However, Samoa Joe also benefited from the British fans as they cheered him on the entire match. The fans chanted the familiar phrase that we used to hear when Joe wrestled "Joe's gonna kill you".

Over the last few years, Samoa Joe went from one of the top stars in the company to a glorified jobber. Many longtime fans were outraged over this. I was very critical of TNA's lack of storylines for the talented Joe. Late last year, TNA decided to throw Magnus and Joe together in a tag-team, which many fans just blew off. However, the duo have seen a resurrection of sorts with their on-air characters. They have been feuding with the tag champs of Crimson and Morgan, which has brought some value back to their stocks.

Hopefully, TNA realizes that they have been wasting talents like Magnus and Samoa Joe, and decide to give them the proper pushes that they deserve.
