MONDAY MORNING HOLLYWOOD

He was Disney's voice of Jaffer in the Malaysian release of Aladdin, cut his teeth in theater with Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, and among other things co-produced M! The Opera for an international audience. If Chacko Vadaketh has one thing going for him, it's range. A native of Malaysia and looking for even more ways to take on the world, Chacko relocated to Hollywood and recently landed himself in the SyFy Channel movie Princess of Mars, playing opposite Traci Lords and Antonio Saboto Jr. Next stop, pilot season.

What was the first job you ever had?
I assisted a veterinarian at the National Zoo in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Bottle feeding orangutan babies and giving medication to Tigers by stuffing the pills into their food are fond memories.

What made you pursue a career in Hollywood?
I love to move people to laughter or to tears.

What was your first job in the movie/TV business and how did you get it?
I played a Deputy Public Prosecutor in the Singapore drama series, Growing Up.

Do you have a favorite story from the trenches?
In Kuala Lumpur we often do a traditional British style Christmas Pantomime as a bit of fun for all the family. One year we did Aladdin and the director decided to make my character a cross dresser.   For months after the run, I would encounter kids yelling out things like, "Mummy! Mummy! There's the man who likes to wear women's underwear!"

What is your dream job?
To be a series regular and writer on a hit sitcom.

What or who makes you laugh?
My cool eleven year old twin nephews, my sweet, cheeky six year old niece, Sacha Baron Cohen, Modern Family, and Young Frankenstein.

What do you do on a typical day off?
An ideal day off starts with hiking and meditating followed by a long, lazy brunch,  a movie and a siesta, dinner with friends, and finally dancing the night away.

What inspires you?
Anyone who has found the balance between career, family, fun and giving back.

What advice do you have for aspiring filmmakers?
Focus on what you are best at and nurture your connections, you can't do it alone.

What are you doing now?
I'm working on a new screenplay and getting ready for pilot season.

If you won the lottery today, what would you be doing tomorrow?
I would attach the two name stars I want to be in the script I'm writing now along with and the director I'd like to helm it.  Book a luxury trip to the Holy Land for my mother and buy my dad the sexiest Jaguar available.

What do you hope to be doing ten years from now?
Traveling, acting, writing and overseeing the children's charity hospital in Kerala that I hope to have up and running in the next ten years.
