Marco Island attracts visitors all over the world for its sugary white sand beaches and luxury resorts. It's one of the cleanest vacation spots you will find among the barrier islands in southwest Florida. Tourists and locals alike call the island paradise, where you can soak up the sun and sink your toes into the powdering white sand as you walk the shorelines or watch the magical sunsets and purple sky reflecting the shining sea at sundown. It's a great place to get away from it all.
Many beachfront accommodations offer direct access to the beach. Beach umbrellas, chairs and tiki cabanas are available on site. If you drive to Marco Island just for a day, Tigertail Beach on northwest side of the island offers beach amenities for family convenience including the Tigertail Cafe, children playground, picnic tables, beach equipment rentals, bathhouse and showers. Take a beach access from the parking area to the lagoon then walk around the mangroves to the white sand beach, along the way, expect to find wildlife and abundant seashells. You can also take a further walk north of Sand Dollar Island for a less crowded area. Shelling is popular here but live shelling is prohibited.
On south of the island, South Beach offers great view of the evening sunsets. Parking area is located on Swallow Avenue and the pathway to the beach is across Collier Blvd between buildings. Foot shower and restroom are also available. Sunset Grille Beach Bar and Restaurant, which is located in the Apollo Condominium, serves casual lunch and dinner for everyone.
