“Teen Mom” star Jenelle Evans has been adamant about filing for divorce from Courtland Rogers as soon as she is legally able to. She quickly regretted the marriage but according to North Carolina law, she has to be married at least one year before filing for divorce. And now with Courtland behind bars for nine months, she could be facing an uphill battle. According to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report published on Oct. 15, “Teen Mom” star Jenelle Evans will now have to serve divorce papers in jail.
Courtland is back in the Brunswick County Jail after turning himself in. He relapsed earlier this month and it sounds like he wants to pay for his relapse. He has been sentenced to nine months in jail and it sounds like his girlfriend Samantha Ferrell wants to wait for him - and support him through the jail time. She recently spoke to PEPTALK Blog Radio about the relapse.
“We were driving and [Courtland] already had intentions of going to talk to his P.O. [probation officer],” Ferrell explained. “He knew that he wasn’t going to pass the drug test … So that’s where we were [going] and a cop pulled up behind us and pulled us over.” Apparently, he wasn’t arrested on the spot but the officer asked him to meet his probation officer at the local jail.“When he went in he was honest about everything,” Samantha revealed. “I guess she just went ahead and violated him.”
So, what does this mean for Jenelle? Well, she has been eager about filing for divorce as soon as she is legally able. Since they married in December, she is only a few months away from being able to file for divorce. Courtland would have to sign the papers while in jail. Maybe it won’t be as easy as she expects.
Do you think he will grant her a divorce from jail?
