The Tea Party is planning a class action lawsuit against homosexuality, according to Tea Party Unity founder and former Baptist pastor Rick Scarborough.
Tea Party extremists are comparing their hoped for lawsuit against homosexuality to previous, successful class action lawsuits filed against big tobacco.
Scarborough, who believes that AIDS is God’s judgement against LGBT people, asked LaBarbera about the possible lawsuit after LaBarbera lamented the fact that Fox News does not cover “these wonderful stories of happy men and women who have left the homosexual lifestyle” like they cover African-American conservatives.
Scarborough asked LaBarbera the following:
Peter, the whole issue of a class action lawsuit, you and I have talked about this a little bit. I just wonder if you’ve explored that, talked to anyone about it. Obviously, statistically now even the Centers for Disease Control verifies that homosexuality much more likely leads to AIDS than smoking leads to cancer. And yet the entire nation has rejected smoking, billions of dollars are put into a trust fund to help cancer victims and the tobacco industry was held accountable for that. Any thoughts on that kind of an approach?
Yeah I think that’s great. I would love to see it. We always wanted to see one of the kid in high school who was counseled by the official school counselor to just be gay, then he comes down with HIV. But we never really got the client for that.
The idea of a class action lawsuit against homosexuality is of course absurd. Such discussions are only meant to be red meat for a Tea Party base that feeds on racism, homophobia and assorted other ignorant pathologies.
Adding insult to injury, LaBarbera’s hope that some kid in high school “comes down with HIV” after being “counseled by the official school counselor to just be gay,” is barbaric and cruel beyond words, and offers a glimpse into the irrational hatred that motivates many of the Tea Party crazies.
