A Tea Party-affiliated group called FreedmWorks allegedly made a video which featured a fake panda performing oral sex on a woman impersonating Hillary Clinton. The story first appeared in today’s edition of Mother Jones.
According to the report, two female interns were recruiting to participate in the video which was created for the FreePAC conference held in July of 2012. The video features a dream scene in which one FreedomWorks official walks down a hallway to discover a panda on its knees with its head in the lap of a seated Hillary Clinton.
The existence of the video was confirmed by an anonymous former staffer at FreedomWorks. Former FreedomWork chairman Dick Armey is quoted in the article as saying,
“I heard they made an obscene video mocking Hillary Clinton. I asked another [FreedomWorks] guy if he had seen it. He said ‘I heard about it. I was traveling at the time. It was shown around the office. There was a concern that this kind of behavior could land you in court. I was shocked at the ugly and bad taste.”
When other FreedomWorks employees saw the video they objected to the content and expressed concerns about the effect on social conservatives who would be attending FreePAC. The group then decided not to show the video at the conference.
The article also reports that two members of FreedomWorks’ board of trustees hired lawyers to investigate “allegations of wrongdoing” at FreedomWorks, including the video. The investigation included former chairman Dick Armey who left the organization with an $8 million payout in December of 2012.
