On Nov. 4 it was announced in an official press release that American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift will be presented with the Pinnacle Award at the 2013 CMA Awards. The award show will air on Nov. 6 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. central time on the channel ABC.
According to the press release, "The Award recognizes an artist who has achieved both national and international prominence through concert performances and record sales at levels unique in Country Music. The artist has also attained the highest degree of recognition within the broad expanse of music worldwide."
CMA President of the Board Ed Hardy will present Swift with the award. Swift's most recent studio album, "Red" was released in 2012 and it went on to reach No. 1 on the both the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and the U.S. Top Country Albums chart. In support of the album she has been relentlessly touring worldwide.
In 2013 she is nominated for a total of six Country Music Association Awards. She is nominated for Entertainer of the Year, and Female Vocalist of the Year. He album "Red" is nominated for Album of the Year, and her single "Highway Don't Care" is nominated for Single of the Year, Musical Event of the Year, and Video of the Year.
