Telltale Games has made its mark with story heavy adventure games for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC based on property from games and TV shows. “Tales from the Borderlands” is the studio’s newest upcoming episodic series that is set in the “Borderlands” universe from Gearbox Software and 2K Games. The first screenshots were released Monday to show the return of some familiar faces.

Tales from the Borderlands” is set on Pandora after the events of “Borderlands 2” and will be released sometime this Summer. Players will switch perspectives between two different characters through the game as the story progresses.

The first is Rhys who is described as “a scheming, low-level data-miner within Hyperion who's plotting his own grand ambitions. The second is Fiona, “a clever and classic fast-talking con-artist born and raised on Pandora out to pull off the grift of a lifetime.”

With “Tales from the Borderlands” being set on Pandora, it naturally sees the return of many familiar faces. Handsome Jack and Marcus Kincaid are two such faces that have already been confirmed but the new screenshots released today revealed an appearance from Zero as well as the Hyperion Loader robot and plenty of psychos.

Telltale Games is currently in the middle of episodic seasons for “The Walking Dead” and “The Wolf Among Us”. “The Walking Dead” should see its third episode released in the next week or two but a fourth series from Telltale Games is also in the works. The developer announced last December that it is also working on “A Game of Thrones” series to be released later in 2014.

Meanwhile, Gearbox Software is not done with “Borderlands” either. “Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel” is due out this fall for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. As the tongue-in-cheek name suggests, the game is set between the original “Borderlands” and “Borderlands 2”. Not only does it tell the tale of how Handsome Jack became the tyrannical leader of the Hyperion Corporation but it is also set on Pandora’s moon.
