XLrator Media has released a new clip from the upcoming Jimi Hendrix biopic "JIMI: All is By My Side" making its U.S. premiere at SXSW on March 12 in Austin, Texas.

The film stars André Benjamin ("Idlewild" and "Semi Pro"), Imogen Poots ("Need for Speed" and "That Awkward Moment"), Hayley Atwell ("Captain America: The First Avenger"), Andrew Buckley ("Borgia"), and Ruth Negga ("World War Z").

"JIMI" was written and directed by Academy Award Winner John Ridley ("12 Years a Slave"). It world premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.

Music Supervisor/Producer Danny Bramson (Grammy winner for his work on "Almost Famous") handled the "JIMI" soundtrack, which features sizzling covers of Muddy Waters and the Beatles.

With music playing an integral piece of the storytelling in the film, Bramson had to find creative methods to cover songs important in Hendrix's life because the film's producers were unable to attain the musical rights to Hendrix's most popular songs.

However, for one vital performance in the film, Bramson was able to get Paul McCarthy to personally give permission for the ability to cover "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" in the film.
