Hard to believe we are already six episodes deep into Season 27 of Survivor. Tonight's pivotal episode looks to be a good one, as we finally will get to see a little bit of water and a little bit of blood co-mingle.
Yes, since the first episodes' multiple twists, tonight we will get the next major surprise. As the previews eluded to last week, Probst will announce his famous line: "Drop your buffs," and we will see the remaining 12 players in the game pick new tribes. Plus, three more Survivors continue their journey on Redemption Island...will this week also see a player or players return to the game?
Here is the synopsis from CBS:
Episode 6: “One-Man Wrecking Ball” - CASTAWAYS FIND OUT IF WATER COULD BE THICKER THAN BLOOD AS NEW TRIBES ARE DRAWN, ON “SURVIVOR: BLOOD vs. WATER,” WEDNESDAY, OCT. 23. Castaways find out if water could be thicker than blood as new tribes are drawn. Meanwhile, one castaway falls victim to a strategic blindside and the Coconut Bandit returns, on SURVIVOR: BLOOD vs. WATER, Wednesday, Oct. 23 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Analysis. CBS once again has spoiled the week's biggest surprise - who ends up on what tribe - with their released press images (see slideshow above left). I'll save the surprise here, only to say that episodes involving tribal switch-ups are often very memorable.
The best part of the switch-up is that we are likely - for the first time - to see couples play the game together on one tribe. It seems like these loved ones pairs will become instant targets, so it should be interesting to see who ends up where. It is also interesting to see if former alliances hold up over the bonds of blood (or in some, cases, the bonds of "water").
At Redemption Island, Laura Morett will probably be very sad to learn that she just missed staying in the game to see the tribal swap. It's unlikely that any players return to the game this week, which means that we should see either Laura M, Brad or John sent packing next. Will John be the next to go, making his due (with eliminated wife Candice) the first duo eliminated from the game?
Another blindside is promised too, in what is becoming the "season of blindsides." Should be interesting.
Be sure to check back tonight for my full recap and tomorrow for my exclusive interview with the eliminated castaway!!
How This Works: As the Survivor Examiner, I'm here for you each and every season to bring you the most wall-to-wall Survivor coverage out there. Each week, you can expect an episode preview on Wednesday morning detailing the upcoming episode and getting you up to speed in case you missed anything from the previous week. Then later on Wednesday night, expect my full episode recap. My recaps tend to be very detailed from start to finish...there's enough smarmy comedians out there recapping the show each week, I'd rather provide you with the entire rundown of the episode. That doesn't mean it's devoid of opinion...because linked to every episode recap article is my Survivor Episode Analysis column, which I write following each episode over at TheTVKing.com.
And that's not all. Every Thursday, you can join me for my exclusive one-on-one exit interview with each voted off castaway. Join me tomorrow for more exclusive interviews!
