There was a supermarket shooting in Lawrenceville, Georgia – a suburb of Atlanta – at a Kroger Supermarket on Monday, and two women were shot, according to Fox News on Monday. Police say that the supermarket was packed with customers who were buying lots of groceries before the next winter storm is about to hit.

After the shooting, Lawrenceville police took two persons of interest in the incident into custody. Greg Vaughn, the spokesperson for the Lawrenceville Police Department, said that the shooting occurred during a fight or argument – but he didn’t have any more details on the incident.

It was reportedly a very chaotic scene at the grocery store with some shoppers actually taking cover inside freezers.

The two women who were injured were taken to a local hospital, and they did not have life-threatening injuries. One of the women was shot in the torso and the other one was shot in the leg.

According to a statement released by Kroger, no store employees were injured in the incident that happened at approximately noon on Monday. Also, the statement says that the store was evacuated and will reopen at a later date.
