At last night's Oscars, Lupita Nyong'o not only looked amazing in her Prada gown but delivered what was one of the most heartwarming acceptance speeches ever!

Lupita Nyong'o won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 12 Years A Slave at last night's 86th Academy Awards. She said of her character, “It doesn’t escape me for one moment that so much joy in my life is due to so much pain in someone else’s.”

She had a long list of acknowledgments, including director Steve McQueen. There were a lot of people who helped her achieve this award. In an emotional speech, she revealed that every time she looked at the Oscar award she wanted it to be a reminder, "No matter where you're from your dreams are valid."

Lupita Nyong'o wore a "Nairobi" blue, halter-style, floor-length, A-line pleated Prada gown. Accessories included a simple gold headband, post earrings, lightweight bangles and a cocktail ring. If I were to go to an evening event and had a choice between over-the-top glitzy glam and simplicity, I'd choose this simple, elegant getup. As they say, the simplest solutions is usually the best solution.
