When you think of industry in Washington State, aerospace, tourism, and perhaps coffee franchises come to mind. However, one of the largest industries in Washington is agriculture.
According to the USDA, Washington’s agricultural production was worth nearly $9.5 billion in 2011.
On Feb. 5-7, 2013, Greater Spokane Inc., and the Spokane Convention Center will host the 36th Annual Ag Expo and Pacific Northwest Farm Forum.
The Ag expo website states, "Ag Expo includes hundreds of exhibits, seminars and forums relating to agribusiness, from large-scale operations to part-time small acreage farms and ranches."
There are dozens of seminars available on topics ranging from family farming business, crop care, and wolf management.
Farm Forum events take place in the Doubletree Hotel Ballroom. The hotel connects directly to the convention center. The 2013 Pacific Farm Forum will again feature Dr. Art Douglas as its speaker for the main session.
Ag Expo opens at 9 a.m. each day and closes at 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and 3 p.m. on Thursday.
Tickets prices are $12 for adults; $8 for youth ages 12-18. Children under 12 are free. Discount tickets are available through the month of January at any Aslin-Finch location.
Free parking is available at the Spokane Memorial Arena with courtesy shuttle service to and from the convention center.
