Two witnesses in Johns Island, SC, reported watching and driving away from a bright, hovering light under 500 feet that made no noise, according to February 27, 2014, testimony in Case 54333 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness and a son were driving south on Maybank Highway about 6:30 p.m. on February 24, 2014, when they first noticed the light.

"This incredibly bright and oddly shaped light was suddenly just there in the sky to the right of the road," the witness stated. "At first I thought it was a helicopter with a search light, but neither my son nor myself could see anything behind the light."

The witness described the object.

"The was no sound either and my window was down. The light was pointy and shaped like the star in nativity scenes. I felt like it was pointed at me. It was in view for three to five minutes."

The witness drove away from the object.

"After we passed it my son could still see the light. He said it was on the front of a funny-shaped plane. The wings of the plane were at the back. We stopped at the car wash for change. I was very nervous. We were at the intersection of Main Road and Maybank Highway at 6:40.We did not reach the city limits of Hollywood until 7:30 or so which bothers me greatly."

Google Maps shows the average drive time between Johns Island and Hollywood, SC, is about 28 minutes. The witness states that it took them 50 minutes. There are many past UFO reports where witnesses experience missing time after encountering a UFO.

Johns Island, SC, is 84 square miles in area with a population of 14,000. South Carolina had 15 reports in January 2014 and was the 15th highest reporting state - while California had 102 reports - the highest reporting state in the nation.
