'Sons of Anarchy' season 6 finale: No reviving Tara from gruesome bloody death

“Sons of Anarchy” season 6 finale had more twists and turns than a carnival ride, along with the visuals to make you stomach sick. It ended in what could have been a cliffhanger. It almost looks like there’s a possibility for season 7 to open up with Tara’s funeral underway or Jax looking up from holding her bloody and seemingly lifeless body screaming, “she’s still breathing.” It could feasibly go either way, but it won’t.

TV Line on Dec. 10 suggests that nothing could have prepared the fans for what they were about to witness in the finale of “Sons of Anarchy” season 6. Show creator Kurt Sutter joined Maggie Siff and Katie Sagal in the after show and Tara is dead with no possible resurrection talked about.

Sutter said he knew early on that he wanted Tara to die at the end of season 6 to start Jax on a life-changing road. Maggie Siff talked about her final scene for “Sons of Anarchy” and the sadness she felt leaving the show. It seems fair to say that Tara’s stone-cold dead and she’s not coming back.

After the brutal stabbing death of Tara at Gemma’s hands, The sheriff walks in and Gemma starts rambling in some kind of strange mental state that this had to be done. This is when the sheriff tells Gemma that Tara didn’t give anyone up, it was Jax who turned herself in to save Tara. Again Gemma learns the error of her ways. The season closes with Gemma's head on Wayne's lap and she's looking more rattled than ever before.

Juice happens to come in just as the sheriff finds Gemma sitting next to Tara’s bloody body and Juice kills him to save Gemma. Jax’s walks in to the two dead bodies and breaks down with Tara in his arms. He’s wailing when the DA and police walk in. This is the actual cliffhanger. The cops are probably going to think Jax did this and a real mess begins for Jax in season 7. Someone will figure out that it was Gemma who killed Tara. This brings the show back to the big question of who is going to take care of the boys with both Jax and Gemma going to jail?

Kurt Sutter knows how to provide the jaw-dropping scenes and right when folks least expect it. Just as Tara was basking in the fact that Jax’s love for his family caused him to turn himself in to save her jail time. Gemma kills her.

Finally Jax did something redeeming by turning himself in, which has been long overdue this season, and he is repaid with a dead wife. You couldn’t help but feel sorry for him, which hasn’t been the case much lately. Jax has done a lot of things this season that was slowly eating at his likeability, but now he’s on the road back to the old Jax.

Early on in the episode, when he tells the club that Tara's bolted, he also tells them they need to find Tara and convince her not to rat. The club asks what will they do if they can't convince her? Jax says "then we do what we got to do." Wow, he'd even do his wife in for the sake of the club. .

Another sad scene was Jax going around saying his noble good byes because he was off to jail. He didn’t know that Tara was lying in a pool of blood at the time, but the audience did. Kurt Sutter worked his magic once again and left fans all worked up, but still wanting more. Does anyone hate Gemma now after she just about popped Tara’s head off with a giant meat fork and put her in the grave?
