Do you want to do some email marketing but you’re concerned about how you will come up with the content for it? Or are you already creating email campaigns but seem to have hit a block with no fresh ideas to write about? Don’t worry; there are plenty of ways to fill your email promotions with helpful content for your audience.

Successful email communications address the reader’s needs. And the best way to find out what those needs are is to ask. You can include a link within your email to an online poll or survey. Utilizing online polls and surveys is easy and provides you with extremely valuable information.

Once you know what your readers are in need of, you can write to those needs. What if you don’t feel you write well, or don’t have time to write an in-depth article? You have many options. Here are a few you may want to consider:

  1. Make a bulleted or numbered list. Simply introduce the issue in a sentence or two, list the solutions, and tie it all together with a closing sentence or two. (Lists also help skimmers grasp information fast).
  2. Search the internet for articles on the topics your audience is interested. Choose an article, make a brief introduction to it in your email and then put a "read more" link that will take the reader to the website where you found the article.
  3. Use an article directory to obtain the rights to use other people’s articles (for free) within your email newsletters and/or your website. Just be sure to read the terms of usage.

When determining whether to use the second or third method, consider this: linking to other people’s articles may be a bit easier but including a link to an article posted on your own website gives you the additional benefit of driving traffic to your site which can help increase your reader's potential interest in what you have to offer.

Think about using these methods to make your email marketing valuable for your customers as well as easy and profitable for yourself.
