If you have been waiting for your big break and it hasn’t happened from a model scout finding you in the crowd at a busy mall or if your videos are lost in the sea of Youtube land then maybe the “You Generation” channel is your ticket to becoming a STAR.
Former American Idol judge and X Factor creator Simon Cowell has teamed up with Youtube to create a new way for undiscovered talent to be seen. Cowell created The You Generation channel which gives opportunity to a wide range of talented individuals besides singers.
Instead of you waiting in line to audition this format brings the audition to you via the internet. Eager talented individuals can upload their audition video to compete for a place on the show and of course be seen and judged by the world.
The You Generation channel is a talent competition format that goes beyond singers. Think of all the varied talent you see on YouTube, makeup application, dancers, photographers and so much more.
Here is a break down of how the channel works according to The Verge online each entrant will be reviewed by Syco Entertainment (Cowell's joint venture with Sony) and "experts in the relevant field" according to YouTube. Covering 26 countries, The You Generation will span 52 weeks, split up into two-week rounds. Each winner will pocket a cash reward and be grouped with other standouts to vie for a grand prize — neither party has yet revealed exactly what that will be.
