Google.com defines a legend as, “a traditional story sometimes popularly regarded as historical but unauthenticated.”
Unauthenticated they may be but sometimes a little boost in spirit a legend does bring. Are you in need of a little luck this holiday season? If so, perhaps a silver pinecone will manifest a windfall. As told by Oriental Trading the legend goes:
One day, a poor mother went into the woods to gather pinecones. When she picked up her first cones she heard the voice of an elf say, ‘Why are you taking my pinecones?’ The woman shared her story with the elf. He told her to go into the next forest. Upon entering, pinecones began falling to the ground. She gathered them up and returned home. When she opened her basket the pinecones had turned into silver. Today, it is tradition to leave a pinecone on the hearth for good luck.
Do you have pine trees in your yard or in the woods near you? If so, consider collecting a few of the pinecones and place them near your fireplace or furnace. For who are we to question, “a traditional story” it might gift the magic you need!
