On Feb. 13, examiner.com caught up with Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Genevieve Morton on the red carpet at Marquee Nightclub and asked the South African beauty what charity work she’s been involved in lately.
“I’m working with Autism Speaks and I’m actually running the New York half marathon for them this year on the 17th of March. I’m [asking] all my fans to get involved in sponsoring,” said Morton who was in Las Vegas promoting Sports Illustrated’s just-released swimsuit issue. “We’re trying to raise funds and both awareness for this charity. If you donate $20, every week we’re going to pick somebody to win a signed copy of the magazine.”
The Center for Disease Control estimates 1 in 88 children has been identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
“By way of comparison, more children are diagnosed with autism each year than with juvenile diabetes, AIDS or cancer, combined,” states autismspeaks.org website.
