Yu Suzuki, Creator of Shenmue 1 and 2, revealed the possibility of a third game in the series on Twitter today. In his post, he mentioned that he would like to have the game crowdfunded in a kickstarter-like campaign. If Shenmue 3 was to start production to, what could we expect?

One of the main things to expect is Nintendo Support. Back in the day, Suzuki wanted Shenmue to be a Sega Dreamcast exclusive. With the industry looking different these days, Suzuki could very well be looking to make Shenmue 3 a Wii U exclusive. The Game could use quite a few unique spins on the Gamepad that not a lot of other developers would ulitize.

In all reality, the game would go multi-platform with exclusive content for each separate system respectively. Each version of the game could feature something new. Also, Shenmue 3 would most likely be much longer and harder to complete than it's predecessors. With the implementation of HD Graphics and a higher polygon count, the game would be guaranteed to be a visual masterpiece.

In the end, if they release Shenmue 3 and it's a success, they could very well start a new trilogy. Similar to what they're doing with the Halo series, They could release Shenmue 4, 5 and 6 within the next few years. Also, each future piece in the trilogy will be for the Wii U, Future Xbox and PS4.

In the end, what if they simply remade the entire Shenmue series in HD? They could release an HD version of the first Shenmue along with it's sequel a few months later. Afterwards, they release the third installment and the next trilogy starts. It's a unique concept and it would surely bring in sales for the Wii U, PS4 and next Xbox Console.

What would Shenmue 3 be like for 8th Generation Consoles? Will it feature the same Gameplay? Will characters look drastically different? Only time will tell.
