Sex in ambulance: Should RI Firefighter be fired for sex romp in rescue vehicle?

News of a Coventry, RI firefighter allegedly having sex with a Kent County Hospital employee in a rescue that was vehicle parked outside of the hospital is sparking controversy this week. While many are brushing this off as something that happens in and around the workplace often, others are calling for the firefighter to be fired if he did indeed engage in a little sexual healing during work hours.

On Friday, February 10, WPRO-AM radio host Tara Granahan's Facebook page was full of comments about the on-duty sex allegations. Most of the people commenting seem to think this situation is commonplace. There is no doubt it could be ripped from the script of a television hospital drama. (Facebook comments below)

  • Nick Gionis Clearly inappropriate, but how do you stop something that has been going on since the beginning of time?
  •  Richard Vanner the idea doesn't seem any different than the "mile high" club, as long as they sanitized. Have a little fun life is short.
  •  Russell Reis Think about it this way, if your elderly parent or your child needs to be transported by ambulance, do you feel comfortable knowing that someone was 'bumpin uglies' on where you're laying?

Kent County Hospital in Warwick released a statement about the employee that romped with the firefighter from the Anthony fire district, stating that she was not a doctor or a nurse and "no further detail will be provided as this is a personal matter."

Town Council President, Gary Cote told WPRO-AM radio host John DePetro on Thursday that "immediate disciplinary action will be taken against our member that works for us and if the allegations are unfounded then that’s where the issue will die."

Cote went on to say that Kent County hospital does have a witness who described the incident. One can only wonder if the ambulance doors were open for viewing while the firefighter and employee allegedly had sex.

Do you think the firefighter and Kent County Hospital employee should be fired or just given a warning to 'get it on' in a more appropriate place?
