"Stakeholders from gun rights and violence prevention groups testify before a Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing on gun violence, including NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre and Capt. Mark Kelly (ret.), the husband of former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords," C-SPAN announced on its website in preparation for today's heating, commencing at 10 a.m. Eastern time.
"Also testifying are Nicholas Johnson, professor of law at Fordham University in New York; James Johnson, chief of police for Baltimore County, Md., and chairman of the National Law Enforcement Partnership to Prevent Gun Violence; and Gayle Trotter, attorney and senior fellow at the Independent Women's Forum," the agenda summary reports.
Gun rights activists will be watching intently for how LaPierre reacts to questioning, as well as how citizen disarmament advocates pressure him. A copy of his prepared testimony is posted on the C-SPAN website.
The hearing is now commencing and can be watched at this link.
UPDATE: Dave Kopel is testifying. Nicholas Johnson is not present.
