Hollywood Records is getting ready to release "Wizards of Waverly Place" star Selena Gomez's sophomore album (album will drop on September 21, 2010) but you can experience the release of title track "A Year Without Rain" right here first. See below for the official music video starring television, film and music sensation Selena Gomez & The Scene (band members Ethan Roberts, Joey Clement, Greg Garman, and Dane Forrest).

Gomez's new album showcases the 18-year-old mini-mogul in a mature, vibrant and fresh way. "California Gurl" Katy Perry guests on one of the new tracks ("Rock God") and rapper Eric Bellinger lends his voice to another ("Intuition"). The Disney star is growing up and wants the world to notice. Gomez shares, "I really wanted something that felt good to perform, but had a techno/dance vibe. I wanted something that had meaning and melody, and more empowering lyrics." Gomez's first solo album was titled "Kiss & Tell" and was gold-certified.

Gomez found just what she was looking for when "A Year Without Rain" found its way to her ears and made them perk up instantly. "When I got the song, I went through the roof. Everybody has that one person they can’t live without. It was exactly what I wanted to say." Not only did she say what she wanted to say, but she said it in two languages! "A Year Without Rain" has also been recorded in Spanish. It marks the first time Gomez has recorded in both languages on a particular song.

Recently, the popular Beverly Cleary book-turned-feature film "Ramona and Beezus" helped Gomez dip her feet into the ever-changing movie landscape of Hollywood. Gomez confides, "I wanted something completely different from my show. All these incredible actors, being able to learn from them and get my feet wet in the film world. It was the perfect way to get into it." Elizabeth Allen directed "Ramona and Beezus". Alongside Gomez were well-known stars Joey King, John Corbett, Bridget Moynahan, and Ginnifer Goodwin. "Ramona and Beezus" is still playing and you can catch it here, Seattle!
