Two men and a woman have appeared at Edinburgh, Scotland Sheriff's Court after they allegedly flung an unknown amount of bacon at the city's Central Mosque, as reported by The Scotsman on Feb. 5, 2013.

The three defendants, Douglas Cruikshank, 37, Chelsea Lambie, 17, and Wayne Stilwel, 24, were specifically charged with a "racially prejudiced offence."
Comprised of people of all races and ethnicities, the Islamic belief system strictly forbids even so much as coming into contact with pork.
However, there are those racially classified as Arabs that have always eaten swineflesh, namely the Arab Christians.
Beam Me Up Scotty...
All three, who hail from southern Scotland's sherrifdom of The Lothian and Borders area, "made a brief appearance, separately in private, before Sheriff James Scott today."
Reportedly, there was no plea or declaration of guilt or innocence was presented before Sheriff Scott on their behalf.
Their cases were place on hold in lieu of further investigation.
The entire trio were released on bail with one special provision that they keep from within 100 meters (238 feet) of any mosque.
It is alleged the Central Mosque, in Edinburgh's southern Potterrow district, had bacon thrown at it and said pork-belly product stuck to certain parts of the structure on January 31, 2013.
If found guilty, the three could face a maximum punishment ranging from an unlimited fine or seven years' imprisonment.
