A school worker in Florida was arrested Saturday for attempting to have sex with a child.
According to police, 48-year-old Mark Thorpe replied to an ad on Craigslist about meeting a juvenile for sex.
Thorpe contacted the juvenile, who was really an officer, for three weeks. He sent text and email messages “before arranging to meet for sex.”
When this food service manager from Seminole County Public Schools arrived at the meeting place, police said he had two pornographic DVDs and candy.
That was when Thorpe was arrested. “Seminole School Board officials learned of Thorpe's arrest and said they will take appropriate measures to insure the safety of students.”
Parents, it is disturbing to know that pedophiles are so close to our children. What can schools do to better protect children from such monsters?
