SATURN is as confident as they come. His smile is big, his walk is relaxed and his eyes fixate on whatever lays ahead which interests him.
The stage name was inspired by Prince, one of his biggest influences. Although gospel music was the only genre present in his very religious home, when he was seven he “discovered Prince through an aunt of mine. It was quite the scandal. People called him gay, a devil worshiper, a freak for dancing around in high heels, wearing lace and make-up, and singing about taboo sex, and most importantly, his music was like nothing else I ever heard. “
His songwriting erupted after his involvement in a high school band where he played the saxophone. Although he really loves writing music, he also enjoys collaborating. “Writing music is like masturbation. Ultimately, you do it to please yourself because there is something inside of you that needs to get out. But when a whole lot of other people get in on it with you, it is so much more satisfying and way more fun!” SATURN says he has written over one thousand songs.

Person responsible for driving you into writing: Writing saved my life. It drove me.
Person responsible for driving you into music: No one drove me. People encouraged me for sure (thanks, Mom!), but more people tried to discourage me. Still, I persisted.
Best thing about being a performer: The energy your audience gives you. It's a lot like love.
Hardest thing about being a performer: Making money in music has been the absolute most difficult part, more difficult than I could have ever imagined. For me, performing is the easiest part of what I do. You just get on stage and do your thing.
Which one of your projects identifies you best today: I feel like I am a culmination of all my projects. This latest one is reflective of that journey as well because it is a mixture of songs I wrote a long time ago and songs that are brand spanking new ... and yet it still works. It's all coming from the same place.
Sum up yourself in ONE word: Evolving
