On February 16, 2010, police in Prince William County, Virginia, filed charges against Marcos Banegas , 26, for forcible sodomy and aggravated sexual battery on an 8-year-old girl. The Honduran national has been on the run ever since, and remains at large.
It was a crime that could have been prevented if police in Montgomery County, Maryland, would have reported him to Immigration and Customs Enforcement when they had Banegas in custody. A year before he was charged with raping the girl in Virginia, he was arrested for second-degree assault on a child in Maryland.
However, because Montgomery County had an official policy against the police notifying ICE of a suspect’s illegal immigration status, Banegas was simply released after the charges were dropped by the girl’s mother, who was apparently dating Banegas.
Amid growing public pressure after a streak of violent crimes committed by illegal aliens, Montgomery County officials changed their reporting policy. While they supposedly now notify ICE of suspected illegal aliens in their custody, they only do so when the suspect has committed a violent crime. Illegal aliens committing drug offenses and a host of others are still not reported.
In fact, illegal aliens charged with second-degree assault are still not reported to ICE. So, Banegas would have been set free anyway by Montgomery County. Evidently, assaults are not considered violent enough.
Montgomery County spokesman Patrick Lacefield recently defended the policy, telling the Washington Examiner: “People need to be held responsible for the crimes they commit. Reporting every single crime would be putting county police in the position of enforcing federal immigration policy.”
So, now another young girl’s life is destroyed because of a ‘sanctuary policy.’

What I object to is Mr. Gibson's attempt to paint all immigrants as troublemakers. And he uses the most base of all accusations to do so. Like child rape. He has a history of such articles.
This does NOTHING to change or challenge the laws that need to be. All it does is stir up racial hatred and incite violence against non whites.

Dave Gibson paints ILLEGAL immigrants as troublemakers because the MSM refuses to cover their horrendous crimes like rape, murder and molestation. In 2006 a world famous criminal pro filer released a report showing an estimated million rapes and molestations by illegal invaders. Since illegal immigration is a crime and not a race or ethnicity there can be no racism involved in reporting these crimes. In fact the most recent rape on Christmas eve was by a Hungarian illegal invader. Since a million LEGAL immigrants are welcomed by us each year, we have a right to draw the line against those who do not follow our laws, just as all other countries do!

Hey, xexon, try again! The majority of illegal invaders that are overstaying visas or stealing across our borders come from the 12th and 10th wealthiest nations in the world, Mexico and Brazil. Mexico's unemployment is 5% compared to our 10%. The kid's with ribs showing are part of the 4 BILLION people in the world that live on $2 or less a day and none of them can get a visa or walk across our border to join the 43 million Americans living in poverty or the 22 million unemployed Americans looking for ANY job to feed and shelter their families. I hope the mother in Montgomery County who did not press charges had her little girl taken away from her. I used to be a sergeant in a corrections facility and if this guy offended once, he'll do it again and again until he is stopped. I hope he does show up in TX because I promise you if he hurts anyone in THIS state, there is NO SUCH thing as sanctuary here. We've got people dying on our border and so does AZ and it is well known that these illegals are coming up well into the US to do these killings and abductions. They are a threat to national security. It's time for the states to take some initiative since the Federal Government won't and tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine. Race has nothing to do with illegal aliens we've had Chinese (no telling if they were poor farmers or gov't operatives) and folks who leave their prayer rugs come through here in SE Arizona. We know members of Hezbollah have crossed illegally and at least one member of Al Qaeda and if Al Shabaab haven't made it they're still in Mexico. Eastern Europeans seem to come in mostly by other routes such as the coast of CA. Many have traveled to NM to get driver's licenses but that will end with their new Governor.
Many caught down here are previously convicted felons, many of whom were convicted of child rape, as well as the gang members. They aren't all poor people coming for a better life but many bad guys looking for better hunting grounds.
The border needs to be secured and Nappy has never had any intention of doing so. While she was Gov she kept hollering for more federal $$ to cover the cost of illegal aliens--it's huge in terms of both dollars and lives.
