"It's lovely that they are doing this," says San Francisco resident, Katie Adler. "That will make a lot of difference to less fortunate children."
For the whole day on Tuesday, people delivered toys to Lefty O'Doul's, a bar near Union Square, and, much to the joy of many children in San Francisco, over 5,000 of those toys have already been given out to children around the City by the Bay.
The police department in San Francisco was able to help with the distribution, says spokesman, Lee Houskeeper.
