SAN DIEGO - Every summer San Diego hit radio station channel 93.3 FM hosts a Summer Kick Off Concert. This year’s 2013 concert is set to kick off on Friday, May 10 at the Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Chula Vista. Radio dj's Frankie V. and Geena the Latina announced on the channel 93.3 morning show the full concert lineup.
Attracting some of the biggest named artist, this year’s Summer Kick Off Concert brings in R&B singers Trey Songz, Ne-Yo and hit indie boy band 'The Wanted' whose singles “Glad You Came” and “Chasing the Sun” has climbed the charts to #1. Other artist includes San Diego’s very own ‘American Idol’ Jessica Sanchez, Demi Lovato, Olly Murs, Emeli Sandé, Icona Pop, Zedd and Cher Lloyd.
Singer/Songwriter Emeli Sandé recently won a 2013 Brit Award for Best British Female while some indie artist such as Icona Pop may not be a name you recognize, but you definitely will know the pop anthem “I Love It." Zedd, the Russian electro DJ has mixed with some of the best iconic pop and hip-hop artist such as Skrillex, Lady Gaga and The Black Eyed Peas.
The years previous concerts has had some big names perform such as rappers Wiz Khalifa, Flo-Rida, Lupe Fiasco, Nelly, Pitbull along with singer songwriter Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Far East Movement and Gym Class Heroes.
