Saine to bare all on upcoming debut album, ‘Naked’

Emerging Jamaican songstress, Saine is an artist of baring all, physically and musically, to show her artistic prowess. Now, the ‘Guitar Girl’ is pulling the strings on her debut album, aptly titled Naked.

The album, which she hopes to release later this year, showcases an evolution of Saine from a sweet-singing starlet into a more, well-rounded entertainer, willing to push boundaries and express herself in music without apology. She says this album describes such willingness as it showcases her true personality and beliefs in song.

“I decided to name it NAKED because it is me in my truest form; open and exposed to my fans,” she told Examiner.com Friday. “I'll have quite a variety of styles ranging from reggae to dancehall, pop and even dubstep. At the end the gist is for my fans to know who I am, the real me, so after listening to it you won’t have to ask who is Saine, you'll know.”

The first single off the album, Good Ova Evil (Audiotraxx Productions) was released earlier this month, in which she points to keeping positive mental and spiritual meditations in the wake of physical adversity. The song is currently available on iTunes.

Another song she will release from Naked prior to its release is I Believe In Me and will be promoting both singles ahead of the compilation hitting shelves.

2013 saw an edgier version of Saine, particularly displayed in her steamy single, F***strated (Frustrated), which turned heads and blazed airwaves across Jamaica. The 22-year-old singer says this is just another part of her musical and personal evolutions.

“This sexy side that was expressed in F***strated is very much a part of me, and my music 2014 and beyond will be just that; an expression of myself,” she said. “There are many sides to Saine inuh, crazy, sexual, secretive, emotional and all the things affiliated with a woman so all of these will be shown in my music going forward. Real music.”

Saine reflected that 2013 was a ‘good year,’ which helped her ‘realize that the music industry requires openness and freedom of expression.’ The eye-catching singer insists more of this will be on display in 2014.

“My music is my life inuh, it is an extension of me, so the same way I’d express myself to you in person is the same way my music is made,” she said. “From here onward it's just upward movement. I have big plans and it begins with the launch of this album so yeah, this year promises to be great and the rest to come is expected to be even better musically especially.”
