Over one year ago, a poorly bred Chihuahua named "Rosie," was rescued from a backyard breeder in Woodland Hills, Calif. This week, the little dog who charmed thousands of people from across the world, died.
The devastating news of Rosie's passing was shared with over 92,000 fans on Rosie's Facebook page on Thursday:
Rosie developed pneumonia and because of her abnormal trachea, it progressed so quickly that I lost her at 9:28 pm tonight. She was in my arms and I was holding her tightly willing her to stay. I am devastated and destroyed.
My whole world was that little girl and I don't know how to carry on even though I have to for the sake of the other dogs in my home. I am going to have her cremated tomorrow. Eddie is in India and is devastated as well. I am not announcing this right now. I don't even want to live without her let alone try to explain that to anyone else.
I am lost without my girl."
Rosie was nearly unrecognizable as a dog thanks to her irresponsible owners who chose to inbreed their dogs; the poor genetics left Rosie with a deformed jaw, bowed legs and nearly blind.
The inbreeding, however, did nothing to ruin her beautiful personality.
Those who followed Rosie's page are expressing their grief over her unexpected passing and sending messages of love and support to her devastated guardian.
