Secular America should reject Ron Paul because Ron Paul rejects the separation of church and state and other cherished secular values.
Ron Paul is bad news for atheists and bad news for secular America. Paul is a deeply flawed presidential candidate that threatens the secular foundation of the United States. While there are ample reasons to oppose Paul, freethinkers, atheists and anyone who wants to preserve a secular America should be particularly troubled by a potential Paul presidency.
Ron Paul - Christian extremist
Ron Paul does not believe in the separation between church and state. In The War on Religion, Paul writes:
The notion of a rigid separation between church and state has no basis in either the text of the Constitution or the writings of our Founding Fathers.
Through perverse court decisions and years of cultural indoctrination, the elitist, secular Left has managed to convince many in our nation that religion must be driven from public view. The justification is always that someone, somewhere, might possibly be offended or feel uncomfortable living in the midst of a largely Christian society, so all must yield to the fragile sensibilities of the few. The ultimate goal of the anti-religious elites is to transform America into a completely secular nation, a nation that is legally and culturally biased against Christianity. — Ron Paul.
The Founding Fathers envisioned a robustly Christian... America, with churches serving as vital institutions that would eclipse the state in importance. — Ron Paul
The Paul campaign clearly welcomed the endorsement calling Kayser an “eminent pastor.” Ron Paul’s Iowa Chairman, Drew Ivers, commended Kayser’s view of Paul’s approach to government, saying:
“We welcome Rev. Kayser’s endorsement and the enlightening statements he makes on how Ron Paul’s approach to government is consistent with Christian beliefs.”
