The Rolling Stones gave fans extra bang for the their buck during their headline performance May 29 at Rock In Rio. The legendary British rockers teamed with The Boss and the Texas bluesman for a pair of songs during their festival, held last night in Lisbon, Portugal.
According to updates post May 30 at The Stones' official Facebook page courtesy of NME.com, “The World’s Greatest Rock and Roll Band” rocked out with Springsteen on their 1972 "Exile on Main St." hit "Tumbling Dice" while Clark Jr. joined the "Satisfaction" hitmakers on their 1978 "Some Girls' classic "Respectable." Both Springsteen and Clark Jr. have made guest appearances with The Stones previously during their 50 and Counting Tour pay-per-view gig on Dec. 15 at The Boss' hometown in Newark, N.J. Fans can check out a video clip of the "Tumbling Dice" performance at Youtube.com. Setlist posted below.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers performed a 19-song setlist. Highlights included a rare performance of their 1998 "Bridges to Babylon" single "'Out of Control." for the second time on the 50th anniversary tour. Keith Richards took two lead vocal spins on "You Got the Silver" and "Can't Be Seen" while ex-Stone Mick Taylor performed as guest artist on "Midnight Rambler."
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers played the first show of their 14 On Fire European tour earlier this week in Oslo, Norway at Telenor Arena. The sold out show marked the band's first live performance since the world tours' abrupt cancellation earlier this year, due to the death of frontman Mick Jagger's longtime girlfriend L'Wren Scott.
The Stones' next 14 On Fir Tour stop is June 1 in Zurich, Switzerland at Letzigrund Stadium. See RollingStones.com for more details.
