Behind the infomercials and glamorous celebrities are two dermatologists, Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields, two of the most respected and most quoted skincare experts in the industry. Articles about and by the two doctors are frequently seen in leading beauty magazines, as well as on television and through other media outlets.

Dr. Katie Rodan is a board certified dermatologist and is recognized as an expert in the field of cosmetic dermatology by the medical community, her colleagues and the media. A researcher and practicing cosmetic dermatologist, Dr. Rodan writes and speaks on a variety of skin care issues while continuing to research new ingredients, technologies, products and procedures to help her patients and the public find the best solutions to address their cosmetic concerns.
A graduate of the University of Southern California School of Medicine, Dr. Rodan completed her internship at Los Angeles County Hospital and her residency in dermatology at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she was appointed Chief Resident. She is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Rodan + Fields--Dr. Kathie Fields
Dr. Kathy Fields is an expert on skin disease and skin aging as well as disorders of the skin, hair and nails. Much of her medical and surgical dermatology practice is applied to cosmetic dermatology and helping patients minimize the the appearance of sun damage and premature aging. Dr. Fields educates doctors and consumers about many different skin conditions and treatments as well as teaching the cosmetics industry about proven dermatological solutions to skin care problems. She was recently named one of America’s Top Dermatologists.
She received her B.S. in neurobiological chemistry from the University of Florida and her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. Fields completed her dermatology residency at the Stanford University School of Medicine. She is an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of California-San Francisco School of Medicine and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. D. Fields has been in private practice in San Francisco since 1987.
Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields are the co-creator of Proactiv® Solution and Rodan + Fields® Dermatologists.
