Rock Hall of Fame to present 'Good Ol' Freda' screening

“Good Ol' Freda,” the film profiling Freda Kelly and her work with the Beatles Fan Club, will be making a stop in Cleveland at a screening sponsored with the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, producer Kathy McCabe announced on Friday on Facebook.

“We are thrilled to announce that Good Ol' Freda has been accepted into the Cleveland International Film Festival, including a special gala screening Thursday April 11 presented by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum,” she posted. She later confirmed the information via email.

The film will be screened three times during the Cleveland International Film Festival at 7:20 p.m. April 11 (the gala) and also 7:45 p.m. April 12 and 12:20 p.m. April 13.

It was previously announced that “Good Ol' Freda” will have its world premiere at South By Southwest March 9 at the Vimeo Theater. Other screenings during South By Southwest are at 9:15 p.m. March 12 at the Topfer Theatre and 4 p.m. March 16 at the Stateside Theatre.

McCabe told Beatles Examiner other film festival screenings are in the works and will be announced soon. She also said that the final work on the film is in progress.

Filmmakers recently announced that the film had attained a long sought after goal of getting permission to use Beatles songs in the film. Four of the group's tunes are to be used.
